Firms linked to #AdaniGroup bought #ElectoralBonds worth Rs 55.4 cr, #BJP encashed Rs 42.4 cr.

Four companies linked to the Adani Group bought #ElectoralBonds.

These include ABC India Ltd and three subsidiaries of the Welspun Group.

Rs 55 crore of the #ElectoralBonds were purchased by the three subsidiaries of the Welspun Group, a Mumbai-based conglomerate founded by BK Goenka.

Rs 42 crore of these Bonds were encashed by the #BJP.

#WelspunGroup's connection with #Adani, in 2005, the #AdaniGroup entered into a joint venture – Adani Welspun Exploration Ltd – with Welspun Natural Resources Pvt Ltd.

The #AdaniGroup holds 65 percent shareholding in Adani Welspun Exploration Ltd through Adani Enterprises Ltd, which has #GautamAdani as Chairman and his son #RajeshAdani as MD.

📍𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬

🔷 The first subsidiary that purchased bonds is Welspun Enterprises Ltd, purchasing Rs 13 crore in two tranches – Rs 3 crore in April 2019 and Rs 10 crore in November 2022.

🔷 The second subsidiary, Welspun Corp Ltd, bought bonds worth Rs 27 crore – Rs 5 crore in May 2019, Rs 2 crore in January 2020, Rs 7 crore in October 2020, Rs 3 crore in April 2022, and Rs 10 crore in November 2022.

🔷 The third subsidiary, Welspun Living Ltd, previously Welspun India Ltd, bought bonds worth Rs 10 crore in November 2022 and Rs 5 crore in November 2023 – a total of Rs 15 crore.
