Gas prices are down $1.40 from their peak after Russia’s war, but they’re still too high.
My Administration is releasing 1 million barrels of gasoline from the Northeast Gasoline Supply Reserve ahead of July 4th, which will lower prices at the pump when folks need it the most.
A major win for Illinois women! The Birth Equity Initiative passed in the Senate, moving IL forward in the fight to combat Black maternal mortality rates.
Illinois values the lives of Black women, and I will continue to fight for a more just and equitable Illinois.
One of the greatest honors of my life was the privilege of serving as commander-in-chief, and with pride also came sometimes heartbreak and loss. And the sober recognition of the sacrifices that so many Americans and their families have made to preserve our freedom.
On Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We owe them so much, and their memories will never be forgotten.
𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥: Join us tonight for the Kankakee County Democratic Party meeting. Be a part of the process as we swear in the new officers for the Kankakee Democratic Party. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

On this Presidents Day, we, the 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲, pause to reflect on the tremendous accomplishments our nation has accomplished under the leadership of our Presidents. This day allows us to commemorate our nation's remarkable accomplishments, which were made possible by our leaders' vision, fortitude, and unrelenting commitment.
The United States is a patchwork of many cultures, beliefs, and goals. Our nation is founded on the ideas of democracy, liberty, and the unwavering pursuit of equality. These ideas have inspired our presidents through periods of war and peace, prosperity and misfortune. From the abolition of slavery to the battle for civil rights, from the New Deal that lifted us out of the Great Depression to the Affordable Care Act, which provided healthcare to millions, our leaders have fashioned a country that aims to provide every person with the promise of opportunity and fairness.
As members of the Democratic Party, both locally in Kankakee County and nationally, we are especially proud of the Presidents whose efforts to make society more inclusive, egalitarian, and compassionate. We advocate for the ideas of community, empathy, and progressive change, believing that by working together, we can continue to develop a society that embodies our goals.
Today, we remember all Presidents who have served our nation with dignity and honesty, acknowledging their contribution in establishing the course we are on today. While we recognize that not every administration has lived up to our greatest aspirations (𝑠𝑒𝑒 𝑇𝑟𝑢𝑚𝑝 𝑎𝑑𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛), we choose to concentrate on the spirit of devotion and commitment that has often pushed our leaders to strive diligently for the good of all Americans.
However, it is crucial to highlight that our celebration of Presidents Day is accompanied with the realization that our road toward a "more perfect union" is still continuing. As we remember the past, we also look forward, dedicated to fighting for policies and leaders that maintain democracy's essential ideals and seek to confront today's issues.
Let this President's Day serve as a reminder of our common history and the communal duty we have to carry on the work of those who came before us. Let us be inspired by their accomplishments and learn from their obstacles as we, the Kankakee County Democratic Party, work to contribute to a future we can be proud of.
Happy Presidents Day to everyone especially out Democratic Party leaders and Democratic Partners and Supporters.
Let's work together to make our State, our Nation and our Democracy stronger and more inclusive for future generations.
