@KerriRawson *waves* from Topeka, on my lunch break. It's a warm sunny day here, very Kansas-y. (Kanzoid?) It feels like a great day for badminton or bike-riding, or backyard gymnastics (minus the injuries). Darn, just remembered I'm an adult now... oh well, back to work!

This is the problem with reading a word in your young teens, misunderstanding it slightly, not having the internet to correct you, and then going on your merry way with that word tucked in with all the thousands of others in your pocket.

TIL that, contrary to what I'd thought, @David_Gerrold did not *invent* the word "ego-boo." I first encountered the word as a young'un in his 1975 TwT "behind the scenes" book, and I just assumed it was his own. Um, sorry! Anyway, I've been using it ever since; it's a handy word!

I should add that I've been sort of using it wrong. I didn't realize that it was mostly meant for the fandom world and originally meant the thrill of seeing one's name in print. I sometimes use it in a more general sense of a person doing something merely for the feel-good.
