VGC Cheating 2023: with the Pokémon World Championships concluding last weekend, we’ve gathered >850 recent rental teams and analyzed them with our usual *free hack checks*. A season finale of @4Chris_Brown’s nightmare! Overall stats below:
Serebii Update: Pokémon Bank will stop working and being able to connect to Pokémon HOME on February 26th 2027. Pokémon will not be able to stored any longer in it and it cannot connect to Pokémon HOME after that day

@PikiBungi@FruitsPoke Use a cheat code that disables the game logic that prevents Entree Forest Pokemon from being randomly shiny, so that you can re-encounter them until they appear shiny by chance. Want a specific Pokemon? Use a save editor like PKHeX to inject whatever you want into the forest.
Apparently Korean and overseas versions of the Generation 4 Pokémon games could trade via the GTS
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like the changes that were made to Korean Pokémon were well documented, so I'm trying to find out some more details
@Lewchube@TheYisusOne Rewritten/"gone" is way too much of an assumption. Game state management is server-side; info is selectively transmitted only if revealed/necessary. They did a pretty good job, tbh. Only downside is no local play, and incentive to not host long-winded 6v6 battles ;)

Brief inspection of some data structures: EVs are stored literally [0..n] per stat -- not same as mainline, which is based on EVs / 4. PID is retained -- good news for Spinda fans! Shiny is stored separately as a byte 0/1. ApiRentalTeamMemberParam appears to store IVs... 💤
HOME master data updated with personal data for the new megas:

Stuff not (yet) in Champions will show as N/A.
Mega Floette gets Fairy Aura.
Mega Golurk gets Unseen Fist.
oops, I was wrong about the plus move flags; they do set them! (milotic trade evolution not setting them is truth) -- deleted those two tweets regarding "home doesn't set them"
my other complaints about backwards transfer are still applicable :D
@tijger_streep The Tracker doesn't change on inter-player trades; think of it like a passport. HOME maintains the unique trackers, and allows anyone to look up the core/sidegame data via tracker.
HOME does some sanity checks to make sure the immutable data (like IVs) matches, hence error 10015
@MepZeroK Reposted my tweet chain; I accidentally included an old screenshot (now updated) to talk about the seed of mastery (can't be used, game thinks it already is). Applying a seed checks the learnsets AND flags; battles only check the flags (performance?).
HOME saves the side-game specific data, kinda like a seasonal wardrobe. When entering a game, grab your seasonal attire if it already exists. Otherwise, create a new blank outfit.
(a little complicated to explain in a tweet/single image...)
The HOME data format is 1000% capable of handling backwards transfers via the HOME tracker; they just simply decided to not allow it. Conditionally sanitizing values was done for SW/SH, just pick safe defaults if the game can't support a given property. It's very disappointing.
