@siddharthspeed9@trainwalebhaiya Firstly RRTS is 160, and that to it hits that for very short segments usually a few mins
Yes the main differentiator would be station spacing
Its one thing to say u did this top speed and other that u sustaining this speed over a long distance and actually reducing travel time.
@shrisha_uchil@zoru75 Anyways HSR won't destroy the industry it will just help alleviate the burdern/congestion it has
Del-bom, busiest route, with an HSR loads get more manageable, more slots at airport for intl. flights
Eg:- Tokyo-osaka,even with shinkansen, flights do operate and in good numbers
@shrisha_uchil@zoru75 Or the Indian Airlines will shift to more International flights. Or even lower regional flights
So yes we will fly to Amsterdam not Ahmedabad but with our own home airline, not a foreign one.
@Dixit4Neeraj@InsideInfraa@AmeyKulkarni_21 Obv especially with NMIA most definitely having much better destinations than purandar.
Hard to imagine direct flights to Europe from pune than NMIA in the near future.
@Dixit4Neeraj@InsideInfraa@AmeyKulkarni_21 Aap to ese bolre h jese IGI pe air force ops h hi nahi.
Yes pune is one of the largest but almost all airports in India were once/still are Airforce bases.
Isliye ban to raha h purandar airport, wait karie, baaki doosre side ke Pune ke liye NMIA bhi to h, close enough.
This is not to defend the situation, but to explain it as it stands. Unfortunately, it's not so much that the Tatas don't want to fix the seat problem, but more a case of seat availability being a global problem.
(A case in point, Air India's brand new 350-1000 is lying fully ready in France for close to 200 days now, awaiting seats.)
When Tatas took over AI, they had a choice: either pull the aircraft out of service and refurbish them straight away (something many of us had suggested back then) or fly them until the new ones arrived.
They chose to expand their footprint and market share with the existing aircraft (and get as many aircraft as they could from the leasing market) during the Ukraine war and before the US & other rivals entered the LH market.
It was a conscious choice, despite them knowing about the seats & IFE issues on most wide-body aircraft. To their bad luck, the following year, the airline industry fell into a global supply chain breakdown and has not recovered since, and the seats of every airline were delayed.
This may surprise folks, but the Tatas actually got one of their subsidiary companies to fabricate a part for the existing first-class seats since they were not available globally.
So they have been trying, but unfortunately, that has been a major issue. Yes, they have dropped the ball on a few aspects (communicating this pain point to passengers better, is one IMO), though I do know that they take undertakings from pax who accept to travel in the seats that are not 100%.
Their wide bodies are under refurb now, and new metal is incoming, so it's a matter of a year or so, hopefully.
@DealsDhamaka@airindia@RonitBaugh
@public_pulseIN@AshwiniVaishnaw@trainwalebhaiya@trains_are_best Coz frankly there isnt any more capacity left.
I myself used to travel on train a lot till like 2017
Once we got a bit more rich, stopped talking the train almost,
Coz id rather drive 14hr to my village & pick up farm produce than struggle with waiting lists
Or just fly IndiGo.
@govindethiraj Inadequate road & Metro connectivity
Sure agreed
But by the time things improve, IndiGo would have captured market out of NMIA so much that AI and others would cry about market monopoly etc.
Yes the current AI cannot expand to NMIA due to A/C shortage but kabhi to karna padega.
@Kun_Srivastav I believe NHSRCL being under IR helps its get central funding easier, As it can easily be allocated from IR's annual budget while for bodies like ncrtc, dmrc, those have to be managed and funded separately.
But NHSRCL isnt influenced by IR babudom coz its a subsidary.
@BLRAviation@sajaniaf Does Bom or BLR have the capacity? To even match IGI let alone adding Jewar to the mix
The amount of foreign connections by intl. Airlines and just the shear population of the city.
While i do agree other cities should be hubs but replacing del to be one, nah not possible
@DesiUrbanist The first coach is a powered coach so technically its a FWD car so yeah makes sense ๐คฃ๐คฃ, but ofc the whole train is AWD.
I did also experience this when we visited oshiwara curves ๐๐๐
@Tushar74249@AviationAll_ I mean during a delivery flight from Hamburg/Toulouse (Europe), and basically 0 load (2 pilots and a few company personnel) the a321s can fly direct to delhi some 8-10hr flight.
Unless ofc the winds are very extreme or u have to fly indirect routes due to airspace restrictions.
