Fly economy for a change. Why do you need free pajamas in a plane? Carry your toothbrush and toothpaste like ordinary citizens do. You are not special because you managed to accumulate wealth in public office!
A new survey by KNBS, CBK and FSD Kenya has laid bare something uncomfortable about our reality: for many Kenyan families, education is no longer a guaranteed right at home, it is a cost carried through sacrifice abroad.
School fees has emerged as the leading reason Kenyans in the diaspora send money back to the country. Let that sink in. Out of the KES 666.7 billion sent home in 2024, the largest share is not going into investment, expansion, or wealth creation, but into basic survival needs school fees, food, and healthcare.
This is what happens when a system shifts the burden of public services onto households instead of the state. Families are not just supporting livelihoods; they are outsourcing the failures of public education and healthcare systems.
In Samburu County, a supplier delivered cooking oil on April 22. The Local Purchase Order authorising that delivery was issued on May 24. The supplier had already been declared non-responsive for failing to provide a tax compliance certificate. Someone still paid them Sh2.5 million. Then, when senators questioned it, a letter dated July 1 turned up, bearing a county stamp showing it had been received on June 22. They didn't just steal. They then tried to falsify the paperwork to cover it up.
This is not a procurement error. This is a crime.
This morning, myself and Dr. Fred Matiang’i held talks as part of ongoing consultations with other opposition leaders to enhance opposition unity with the hope of building a broad coalition committed to transforming Kenya. The overarching goal remains forming a government based on constitutionalism and rule of law, and the total eradication of state capture and corruption.
When you mention Odious Debt, the looters tremble. In just 4 years, Ruto has borrowed more than Uhuru did in 8. The silence of beneficiaries is deafening.

The use of goons to attack All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi is a dangerous assault on our democracy and a troubling sign of how far we are drifting from the principles of justice and the rule of law. We are not far from descending into the kind of instability that has plagued Haiti.
History teaches us that societies that fail to learn from past mistakes are doomed to repeat them. Those who ignore history risk becoming the very tragedy they refuse to remember.
NTSA, this is a citizen complaint.
Blinding headlights on Kenyan roads have become a serious safety issue.
Matatus.
Boda bodas.
Buses.
Private cars.
Some vehicles are no longer using headlights. They are carrying portable suns.
Every night, drivers are forced to slow down, squint, or drive blindly because an oncoming vehicle has turned the road into a stadium.
At highway speeds, a few seconds without clear vision is enough.
Dear NTSA, do you need our help identifying these vehicles?
Because Kenyans meet them every night.
We know the routes.
We see the offenders.
We experience the danger.
Maybe giving Kenyans a better night driving experience has not been urgent enough.
But here is the interesting part:
You can actually fine them.
Maybe the revenue opportunity will finally motivate action where public complaints have failed.
Fine them. Remove unsafe modifications. Make the roads safer.
Road safety is not only about speed cameras and checkpoints.
Sometimes it starts by allowing drivers to see where they are going.
Tag NTSA.
Repost until night drivers are heard.

How do you debate a national budget when key debt figures are missing?
The 2026 Budget Estimates leave the net domestic borrowing section blank, even as domestic debt continues to surge. This is not transparency; it is fiscal concealment.
Kenyans have a right to know the true cost of government borrowing.
David Maraga: If you give me the privilege of leading this country, I will dedicate my presidency to dismantling the culture of impunity... a civilised government is one which obeys the law.
When we told you that the fuel price increase had more to do with the government's desperate search for revenue to service maturing debt obligations before the close of the financial year on 30th June, many dismissed it as speculation.
Now the facts are becoming harder to ignore. The recent adjustment cannot simply be blamed on developments in the Strait of Hormuz. Too often, external events are used as convenient scapegoats while the underlying fiscal pressures at home remain unaddressed. Kenyans deserve honesty about the true drivers of rising costs, not manufactured narratives.
After engaging citizens across 43 counties through the Ukatiba Caravan, former Chief Justice and Presidential flagbearer David Maraga now delivers his State of the Nation address, The Way Forwad, from Ufungamano House, Nairobi. https://t.co/4uHbxiGaVA

This afternoon, I met a long term friend of the late Baba Raila Odinga.
I asked him , where did the rain start beating us!?
and he simply answered empty political rhetoric, useless tribal mobilisation and nothing about the economy.
He knows something about the economy.
We will gather all progressive voices to ensure Ruto goes home and get replaced with the right Kenyan .
Kenya needs a renaissance!
David Maraga: Fellow Kenyans, this is my personal pledge to you. I will not steal from you. I will not allow my family or friends to steal from you... If we succeed in confronting impunity and recovering stolen assets, we will reduce the cost of living.
I am deeply grateful to Hon. @MarthaKarua, Presidential Aspirant and Leader of the @PLPartyKenya for joining us today at Ufungamano House for the @UGMParty State of the Nation.
Our journey of working together started many years ago when you served this county with courage as a Magistrate.
Together we will deliver for Kenyans the #Ukombozi from this extractive state led by the Ruto regime.
