Professional huckster, amateur astronomer, black cat aficionado, husband, dad. Go Mountaineers. No, the other Mountaineers. 85% chance I’m in the kitchen.
@SlapsStroganoff@58bugeye Even better when you tell them the bundle the eagle is holding is called a “fasces” and is where we derive their most feared no-no word.
@SaltEMike I’m confused… VOIP has been working reliably (at least for me?) since 4.8. It’s just that no one ever uses it because they don’t *think* it works, so haven’t bothered to set it up, creating a self-perpetuating issue…
@PrimeCHRISS They’re slowly adjusting it all in the TTK tests on the PTU. The dev team has already acknowledged that ballistics are too powerful at the moment.
@HeyItsBWags All ASD contracts, all Foxwell, all Eckhart, all Bounty Hunter (fps version)… 100% bugged. For whatever bizarre reason, though, all the Battaglia jobs work just fine. Nary a bug in sight for those. 🤷♂️
I’ll do you one better: all FPS contracts (*ALL* of them) in Stanton are broken for me and at least dozens of others at an account level. Objectives will only progress if I squad up with someone else, at which point it all works perfectly. Other accounts? Fine. PTU? Fine. But since early August, I’m totally locked out of all FPS contracts and any ship-based “hide in the emissions field and ambush” contracts. Game simply doesn’t register that I’m there, even though enemies spawn normally, etc. Issue Council had plenty of replies & upvotes on the post and yesterday, CIG just… closed it with no comment.
@HeyItsBWags How my Polaris will live the moment they allow insurance/claim restocking for items in ships. I’m still too worried a hanger bug is gonna eat it all.
@VSF_Knights_SG I mean… the payout vs effort for the medium salvage job was insanely unbalanced. You could make millions way too quickly. All contract payouts, though, across the whole game, need a complete rework, though (and Gilly shouldn’t be repeatable ever, tbh).
Depends on the potential use cases of the SRV. It seems to be to be worth more than I initially expected. The ability to haul soft kills and salvage back to a central, safe place to be picked apart component by component and RMC bit by bit by a team? That could be extremely useful, especially as we see further economy balances. It may or may not be an unpopular opinion, but I think ship/component replacement costs should be *much* higher than they currently are and we should get rid of the auto-bricking mechanic. Give salvaging a real purpose, make piracy interesting and more than anything, give actual honest-to-God field repair with a repair tool(s) actual worthwhile purpose. Give us a viable reason to EVA or crash land and patch a ship up to keep it running longer. Let us manually repair borked maneuvering thrusters. Let us throttle engines differentially to keep flying when a main thruster is blasted off. Make me open up the hood and swap a fuse and apply patchwork to fix a dinged QT drive so that it doesn’t bleed quantum fuel at 300% the normal rate due to damage. Some of these changes wouldn’t even be all that hard to implement in a matter of weeks. A lot of the backed infrastructure for the code appears to already exist.
