@realIrishLyre @yashar Term limits would alleviate lifelong politicians from staying in office until infirm or dead. I am also in favor of auditing finances of politicians regularly and imposing cognitive tests. Just don’t believe a blanket age limit would be beneficial in humanity’s long-term.

@realIrishLyre @yashar I don’t disagree with your intent, but I would recommend we pass term limits to help alleviate this issue rather than imposing an age limit. The reason being that we should hope and expect human life expectancy to grow. So an age limit set today may not apply years from now.

The first 10 amendments were drafted to provide unalienable rights for individuals that no govt could impede. Additional amendments have been added to limit the federal government.

Or it is interpreted as a living document altering said definitions. Again, that is why I shared an originalist interpretation as it limits the fed.
