From the publicly available video of this incident — including more than one camera angle — this does not appear to be a case of unprovoked aggression by Mr. Allen. It appears to show a person waiting for him, blocking his path, and initiating contact as soon as he approached. Mr. Allen then stood his ground. The confrontation was not started by him.

I respectfully ask that any charging decision be based on the full video record rather than a single clipped angle, activist statements, or pressure to turn this into a national political story. The footage is here:
