@AvidCommentator I think it weighs heavlily, in part, because people who need Labor to act, expect them to. A lot of what has gone wrong here, the investment settings, the 'just add people' economic model, it's what the Coalition built. If Labor doesn't fix it, it's unlikely the Coalition will.

I would have thought a Labor Gov in danger of losing the next election wouldn't be in the business of pissing off such a large community, but here we are.

@CameronAtfield Surely the case for a renovated Perry Park is stronger than upgrading the RNA? RNA will eventually be used once a year for the Ekka, whereas Perry Park could be home for BNE Utd (winter), Roar mens and womens (summer), and premier local football games and carnivals.

@JKloodman @KosSamaras From memory, the neg gearing policies of Labor in 16 and 19 were not to get rid of it entirely. It just wasn't going to be available on people buying existing properties, but applicable to new builds. Sensible movement was on the cards in the past, shame it was never implemented.

@KosSamaras Invisible is the feeling for those renting and/or trying to buy a home. There isn't the acknowledgement that the pain isn't just because of low supply, it's also because of demand. Action on neg gearing, cap gains, air bnb, the migration intake, anything. Instead, nothing.

@Hirald0 One weird thing about the set of state politicians in QLD, from any party, be it Labor, Greens, LNP.....hardly any of them are football fans.

Which is a disconnect from the most popular sport with voters.

I would suspect that they wouldn't care if the FA withheld NT games.

Plenty of money for other sports and facilities. But stuff the Qlders who love soccer.
