I rewrote 4,000 words yesterday on a subject I have been wrestling with for six months (divine glory and the cross). They might be the hardest 4,000 words I ever write.

Maybe I could have done it all better and faster using AI. I would trade nothing, though, for the exhilaration I felt yesterday of 'breaking through' after such a long, arduous process.

I don't know whether what form these words will see the world in, when it's all said and done. But I know I am a different person for the process.

And that is what I think the stakes are for offloading thinking to AI.
