The @irishfa@NorthernIreland head of Comms, or whoever is responsible for their outrageous social media output, should no longer be in position.
From their GAA alliance on Casement to a multitude of other issues, the IFA has lost all touch with the core ethos & identity of the longstanding fanbase.
There needs to be fundamental structural and personnel change.
Some staff members of the IFA may find themselves having allegiance to Celtic, or even (as is the case with some senior management) the Republic of Ireland, and that’s fine as their personal view, but it’s another matter when they then start to seek to impose those views- which are contrary to the identity & ethos of the majority of the core fanbase- via IFA output.
@panthonymcgrath@YouBoysInBlue_ Murphy and McHugh had no business running down and Donegal were playing to get Clifford off, they are such a good team and don’t need to waste focus on that
@panthonymcgrath@YouBoysInBlue_ He should have asked it tbh, bar the row happened at half time but similar to Murphy in Croker it wasn’t brought up till later
@panthonymcgrath@YouBoysInBlue_ The S&C coach shouldn’t have been on the pitch or touched a player, get touched him he made a meal of it. Ger apologised and recognised he wasn’t wrong in post match interview McGuinness tried blame it on the journalists
@panthonymcgrath@YouBoysInBlue_ The push in the back as ball was gone, every defender does it but Donegal’s do it very well. He reacted wrongly but don’t play innocent. Ulster teams have their reputation for a reason, it’s the hardest hitting provincial
@panthonymcgrath@YouBoysInBlue_ Nothing will soften the blow of what’s coming tbh but the feeling of 31 against Dublin. Will be amplified if nothing happens
@panthonymcgrath@YouBoysInBlue_ The issue is you can’t compare why he done it bar the fact he did do it. If want get like that’ the reason Clifford reacted was because Donegal kept leaving it in on him, that doesn’t excuse what he done same why with McGuinness it doesn’t
@panthonymcgrath@YouBoysInBlue_ I’ve no issue with it, but McGuinness biting the head off Tommy roney, Murphy and mcHugh running down to try get Clifford sent off and then playing victim. Ger should have been punished, too harsh, McGuinness should be punished but precedent set
@seanosnothing@m_brosnan@ExaminerSport Got physical with a backroom member for touching a Dublin player… Jim put hands on a player on the pitch not the brightest are we Sean
This has been coming, Howard, Kilkenny, scully all dodged some hard runs today. A group who’s won everything and owe nothing but the big issue is losing early doors at minor and 20s last couple years. Fair few brought onto panel this year over age of 24, not undiscovered talent
The cold hard truth is Dublin are in real trouble.
Forget the senior and look at the underage and thats where the worry should be.
Reliance on players that are near the end is also telling.
Well done Westmeath absolute magic from them.
