It uses qmd by @tobi for fast, private indexing and searching of personal knowledge bases like Obsidian vaults or markdown files, using SQLite with BM25 for keyword search and local embeddings for semantic search. It features a powerful hybrid mode that combines query expansion (via Qwen3-1.7B), parallel retrieval, reciprocal rank fusion, and re-ranking with a cross-encoder, all running on-device with auto-downloaded models and easy setup via Bun.
