First, Why would you think Kikuyus vote as a block?
Two, Was #ThePlan to overtax citizens, shoot their children and overpay MPs?

Here are some facts for you:
1. The protests, though now falling apart with violence, were adressing REAL concerns
2. The President in all of his speeches appears to still believes he can PR his way to the hearts of disgruntled youth. He cannot. He keeps avoiding the hard decisions required to implement real change. How is shutting down Harambees going to reduce corruption and displays of opulence?
3. The youth voter turnout in 2022 was less than 50%

One way or another, this country has come to a pivotal moment. And history, our children, will judge us.

Now that the #RejectFinanceBill2024 protests have brought me back to x, I want to pay back my friends and fellow Kenyans. For restoring my faith in my country, faith in my fellow citizens, and faith in social media as an instrument of change.

I agree with almost everything you've said. Justice Chief Maraga would be a better spokesperson for my issues than most supposed "youth representatives".

To answer your question about shifting goalposts: Our core issue, or mine at least, is unaccountabilty. It started out as financial accountability. It began with financial corruption and has now become about moral corruption; from MISUSE OF FUNDS to ABUSE OF POWER.

Abuse of power in this sense:

1. A blatant disrespect of the public by their elected representatives. From little to no public participation to ignoring protests and voting along party lines.

2. Excessive force by the executive against arnachy, yes, but also to defend a FinanceBill that was beginning to become indefensible.

Integrity means less corruption, less police brutality, and more government transparency. Key questions about transparency and accountability go unanswered. We want, not merely a government that works, but a government we can trust.

My reading of this political moment is that it is about corruption. It is very pivotal. We have reached pivotal moments before. The 1990-92 moment was about multiparty which is a byword for political freedom and civil liberties.

I HAVE typed this before, more than 5 times. And I know it will happen in my lifetime or when am gone.
1. We should have 8 Counties (the former privinces). The have governors. Do away with the senate.

2. The 47 counties should be the constituencies.

3. All the constituencies should be wards. That means all what you call Kiambu MPs should be MCAs meeting in Kiambu.

4. All the wards should be Village assemblies. Kiruga Thuku and his 4 colleagues in Othaya Constituency should be meeting in Othaya once a month.

Infact MPs and MCA and those Village Assemnlies should be part-time. Ask those who were here in 60s, 70s and 80s, the work of councillors was part-time.

Someone in the US was shocked to see a full hotel inside Parliament, which is not even open to the public. That one should have been the first to go up in flames.
