Ugandaโs attention economy is creating millionaires but bankrupting public decency. We have reached an era where a million views can buy political patronage but cannot buy basic human manners. Look no further than the guest list at "Jazz With Jjaja" 2nd edition to see why common sense is dying.
โI am saddened. The outrage over a media personality objectifying the grieving widow of the late Sydney Gongodyo on TikTok is entirely justified. But let's stop acting surprised. This is the inevitable result of a political system that rewards shock value over substance, producing digital mercenaries with millions of followers but zero empathy.
โThe real tragedy is the state validation that follows. When reckless clout-chasers are granted exclusive access to power and handed 5 Billion UGX in tax-free SACCO funds, the incentive structure is clear: be loud, be irresponsible, and you will be rewarded.
โIn a political system that exchanges credibility for digital noise, traditional leadership rules no longer apply. Given today's landscape of erratic public appointments, it would surprise no one if a digital clown (like the one you know already) is named to a high-stakes government position next. When a society replaces merit with metrics and conscience with clout, common sense gets priced out of the market.

Theft situation around Jinja Road traffic lights mainly is getting out of hand and somehow itโs starting to look normal
The moment the lights turn red and cars stop, groups of like 3 thugs move between vehicles targeting side mirrors and car grille in traffic jam.
This mostly happens around 4am-7am and again 5pm-8pm almost every single day.
Iโve personally been a victim of this twice while heading home. Iโve also witnessed a Range Rover driver get his grille pulled off in traffic jam in the evening. Right there in front of everyone. Multiple times too.
If youโre lucky, they only take the mirror glass. Worst case, they remove the whole side mirror, mostly on the co-driver side.
Cars mostly targeted are Subaru Imprezas, Range Rover grilles, Mercedes Benz mirrors with lane assist, Harrier Kawundos grilles and more.
Please be cautious. Engrave or label your mirrors with your plate number, and Libiti em
Keep your windows up, and central lock your car while in traffic.
Security authorities we need your help this is getting ridiculous. Please tag em.
Is it just me or am I just judging the wrong competitions? Two/three years ago, every time I was invited to judge international innovation competitions, I would meet many young, fresh innovators from Uganda. These days, I see very few . Am I judging the wrong competitions?๐ค๐ค๐ค
The driver of this car, shame on you.
You carried a whole bag of rubbish and threw it on the road. (Luzira road)
You donโt even fear throwing rubbish on that beautiful new road??
(The rubbish included yogurt tins etc)
You branched off to Mutungo side.

I felt his advice should probably have gone to the Petroleum Revenue Investment Reserve (PRIR) fund. Expecting NSSF to be tied up in illiquid long-term assets like infrastructure might be good politics, but it is definitely horrendous economics. Politicians aren't fund managers.
They are looking at NSSF money as an extension of Taxes or Government Money that should help them to meet their mandate.
This is not Government Money. This is Private peopleโs pension money. Anything that threats that core view should be rejected.
The World Bank has told Uganda's government that proposed legislation to regulate people and organisations that receive foreign funding will hinder its work in the country, according to a letter seen by Reuters. https://t.co/OA6hWo8Vjy

Dear @GenWamala,
A section of Kampala - Gulu highway around Kuku chicken feeds factory in Bombo is slowly getting washed away.
Urgent attention is needed to prevent further damage, the gaping ditch fixed, guardrails replaced and the stretch made safe for all users.
Thank you.

Pictures from ARTEMIS SPACE MISSION-April 2026. Can see astronaut looking at planet Earth through his window. And โก๏ธ shows how our Planet looks when seen with other planets from the astronaut's window....
And for you the African out there, this is the question to ask yourselves: HOW DOES THE AFRICAN DEFEND HIMSELF AGAINST A PEOPLE WITH THESE CAPABILITIES?
Yes, it is beautiful to talk about PEACE AND LOVE AMONG MEN ON EARTH, etc, but we live under a different REALITY; the 'BIOLOGICAL REALTY' which dictates that the WEAKER WILL ALWAYS BE EATEN AS PREY! This is the LAW OF NATURE. It is Athen's THUCYDIDES who put it more aptly: "The strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must". In our world, justice is irrelevant; POWER DECIDES EVERYTHING!
Remember this as you buy more flashy limousines and stash away that other ๐ฐ bundle in a foreign bank; THEY WON'T LET YOU HAVE IT WHEN THAT TIME COMES!
As a country without a minimum wage, the PAYE threshold of UGX 235,000 per month where an employee pays zero PAYE should be revised. This figure was set in 2012, 12years later, the 235k of 2012 is almost 1million today. In 2014 a litre of fuel was at average 3500, and now itโs at 5200/=, so while Govt revises tax bills every year, the lowest threshold remains the same. Considering our economic times, taxing any amount below 1m is not only unfair but unjust.
Govt should consider increasing the PAYE threshold to mark the economic realities of our time.
