@evboyce I just don't understand the controversy this thread is creating. What's the policy that would make Toronto grittier? Let's call this what it is: gentrification. It's an ineluctable phenomenon in any society where individual property rights trump everything else.

@_LukeBradley @bedtime_enjoyer The 60's and 70's were absolutely Toronto's peak architecturally. The prevailing suburbanism has since fallen out of fashion but the design was very high quality. Of course such structures don't look like Cabbagetown so they get binned unceremoniously.
