I take the lead because I refuse to leave the future of People and the Planet to Luck and Chance. The 2030 agenda is a shared purpose and a reflection of what I want the world to look like. #YouthDay2020#ITakeTheLead#Youth2030
To all my girls chasing a new chapter, be gentle with yourself. What’s meant for you will always find you, so trust the process and give yourself grace. You’ve got this! ♥️

Today, I heard the Minister of Justice talk about the recent disturbing rape cases. I wasn’t surprised that she was the one to bring it up because she has spent her entire life as an advocate.
I particularly felt her depth when she said she was holding back tears. I didn’t doubt her. I’m glad that someone is talking.
I was just concerned with how the house only seemed interested when it took the turn of jokes. That’s the thing about our parley. I was concerned, but not surprised. That’s probably why we need younger people in that house because times have changed.
Unfortunately, that’s a true reflection of our society. Even if we forget the older folk; just spend 10 minutes with regular people and you will notice how differently we view certain issues. I mean, sometimes I get gobsmacked at how even young learned people feel about such issues.
These days, I’ve learnt to be more gracious, otherwise, I’ll spend the whole day debating semantics. I’ll take the pure intentions from the Minister. Her many years of advocacy, fighting for equality, should count for something. I hope someone is telling her that what she says when doing her advocacy matters. It cannot become funny.
I just don’t know what her passionate appeal will do for the disgusting acts we keep seeing. I really don’t know what it’ll do. I agree with her when she says we now need to speak to people’s conscience because regardless of how many laws we put in place, if a child/woman is raped, the damage is already done. How do we stop it? Just how?
