Remember when Danielle Smith condemned the "arrogance" of a government for passing laws in a matter of days?
Now she's rammed through a law stripping teachers' charter rights in a single day.
Seems the "democratic process" no longer matters to her now that she's in power

My message to Alberta teachers is simple: you will not stand alone. Tomorrow all other Alberta unions will meet to finalize a plan for unprecedented collective action. The executive council of the Canadian Labour Congress will also meet in emergency session.
@LailaGoodridge@LailaGoodridge you are better than this. Please do not play into the games that the rest of the Conservative Party is doing. I want to be proud of who represents our riding, and sharing these lies is not something that looks good for Fort McMurray.
The average Div 2 (9-11 years old) class size at my child’s school is almost 30 students. They have empty classrooms at the school, but no budget to hire another teacher.
Between the ‘Alberta’s Calling’ campaign, school enrolment increasing *every* year, and overcrowded classrooms for a long time, UCP should have seen this coming YEARS ago (even after they stopped collecting class size data). 1/2
40 students in my eldest’s middle school class, 30 in my youngest’s elementary class. Alberta has the least funded education system in the entire country. Oil maybe booming, but our children are suffering. #ableg
Our classrooms are bursting at the seams, teachers & school leaders are struggling to meet their students needs. The results of the most recent pulse survey are clear:
1️⃣ Teachers report classes are well beyond the Alberta Commission on Learning recommendations for class size.
Even if you think LGTBQ+ rights and what Danielle Smith is doing has nothing to do with you, you should be concerned because:
-clearly she is beholden to an unelected group led by a dangerously ideological megalomaniac
-she has no mandate for any of what she just announced 1/
