For the past two weeks, our area's electricity has been worse than a remote village. Around 30–35 hours of load shedding, 7 hours today alone... and the power is gone again.

🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨Residents across parts of Lahore say prolonged unannounced power outages are worsening the impact of intense summer heat, despite claims by the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) that it has more electricity available than current demand.

Consumers in areas including Shama, Gulberg, Outfall Road and NFC reported unannounced load shedding lasting four to five hours. Many also complained of low voltage and repeated power fluctuations that they said damaged household appliances and electronic equipment.

The outages have sparked frustration among residents, who questioned why electricity cuts continue despite the utility's claim of surplus generation.

According to LESCO, electricity demand in its service area stands at 4,033 megawatts, while 4,250 megawatts are available, leaving the system with excess supply.

The utility said there is a clear balance between electricity demand, supply and distribution across the LESCO region, maintaining that power availability exceeds current demand.
