Here’s a modified version of an illustration by Stephan Schmitz (conceptual illustrator) that I changed to translate mine and @caitlin_shaeda ‘s message. Let us know how you interpret this image?

According to Melika Rahmani Misconceptions about Arabs in the west stem from media, news and even politicians. When movies like 300 can depict Persians as ‘non-human’ or ‘exotic’ then their audience is bound to be wrongly influence to some extent. #bcm222
While I was typing out ideas for my ethnographic story I recalled what our guest speaker had said earlier in the semester about simple writing. Her creative peices was relatable, to the point and easy to read and that’s something that inspired my story writing process. #bcm241
The creative writing piece is definitely the most interesting assignment I’ve ever done. Here’s an example of an ethnographic story that I came across. #bcm241

Why does hearing your own voice sound so weird? The pitch videos we make for media classes make me realize how different I sound to others 😃

The fast forwarded horror pitch video we watched yesterday lacked a specific audience, field site and overall clarity and narration. Whom the video was made for wasn’t mentioned as well #bcm241
Ethnography isnt just stating one’s observations about a community. But it also involves a form of subjective storytelling. We build a narrative based on our observations to evoke an emotion in our audience. This differentiates ethnography from research. #bcm241

I couldn’t think of more than 4 ‘passions’ in this weeks’ 241 tutorial
However, this article I read based on a Stanford study made a lot of sense. Do you guys agree?

How do you interpret this?

Since the semester is coming to an end, here’s just a few things I learnt:
- I understood the design thinking process in detail.
- content curation and creation
- How to create content based on the feedback loop of our audience
- prototyping & testing
For me the one thing that was most memorable for my semester was studying on campus and meeting my classmates after a whole year. Meeting @MichaelMa11ory and miss Maha after so long was great too. Can’t believe the semester is already over :) #bcm114
