🧵Not $BTC vs $KAS , It's Bigger Than That !
The last few days have been intense between BTC and KAS communities.
But this isn’t about who’s “right.” It’s about what each side isn’t seeing.
This thread connects dots many aren’t seeing👇
Today we are introducing KaspaDollar, an initiative led by core developer @asaefstroem to build the first decentralized stablecoin on the $KAS network.
The developments around @kccforum and the Toccata hardfork have considerably widened what Kaspa is capable of. Capability alone, however, does not make an ecosystem. Decentralized finance requires a unit of account that holds its value, and until Kaspa has a stablecoin of its own, every application built on it will remain dependent on assets issued elsewhere.
The design we intend to follow is the decentralized, overcollateralized stablecoin: a pattern whose security properties have been examined and tested across the industry for the better part of a decade. With the support of the core team, we consider the conditions right to bring it to Kaspa.
Realizing this requires development, an independent audit, further research, and the operational work of taking a protocol from specification to production. To fund it, we are opening a fundraiser with a target of 5,000,000 KAS.
Contributions are made directly to the fundraising address published on the website. Should the target not be reached by 1 January 2027, every contribution will be returned to the address from which it was sent.
Up until that point, this account will share the plans, details and progress of the work as it develops.
@5apere4ude KRC-20 fee model requires a minimum of 1,000 KAS for token deployment and 1 KAS per mint, paid to miners.
AFAIK KCC-20 has no fixed fees, allowing token issuance and transfers with normal tx fees.
That's why I raised the question of potential miner revenue loss...
The potential trade-off of KCC-20 on $KAS
KRC-20 inscriptions generate a significant share of miner fee revenue despite relatively low activity
KCC-20 may need much broader usage to match that revenue.
Native tokens at the potential cost of miner revenue?
Thoughts?

@zuqkaX@QUBICxTNG@c___f___b Different examples. In those cases, network participants could choose which consensus rules to follow. Ethereum even split into ETH and ETC.
What choices did Qubic participants have? Could they reject the quorum's decision or did everyone have to accept it?...
Im sorry for everyone who lost their $QUBIC . Nobody deserves that.
But the chain isn't processing tx, ticks have stopped & the entire network frozen.
@c___f___b is this the kind of decentralization you've always been talking ?
The funds are contained
Computors coordinated a protective halt of the network at tick 85,371,949.
No transactions are processing, so the drained funds cannot be moved or sold while this is resolved.
Halting the $QUBIC network doesn't automatically move funds into escrow. So how were those funds moved? Did the quorum authorize moving funds without signatures?
You need to tell the whole story 😉
Big congrats to the $QUBIC team for resolving this issue so quickly! You guys did an amazing job! I was honestly losing faith, but well done! Especially to the core dev, Joetom.
Everyone is going to get their funds back, and for those questioning decentralization, this was a decision made by a group of computers that don’t know each other.
Centralization is when one person or entity controls a network. This is not what happened here.
And do not confuse decentralization with chaos.
@QUBICxTNG@c___f___b Decentralization doesn't simply mean that no single individual controls the network. It also means resisting control by coordinated groups.
The question is: who has the power to stop the network, and can the network continue without their permission?
@GuyLikeAnother1@c___f___b If you're okay with " quorum can halt the entire network whenever it decides there's a good enough reason, while still calling that decentralization, then I have nothing more to say 😑
@GuyLikeAnother1@c___f___b So, if the computors “think” someone has done something wrong in the future, they can simply freeze the entire chain again, right?🤔
@MJBassettInt@Qolaz11@c___f___b So, in the future, if $QUBIC computors think someone has done something wrong, they can simply freeze the entire chain again, right?
@Manu21805502@c___f___b Its not about whether people got their funds back or not and I’d be happy if they did. But at least dont preach decentralization when you can freeze an entire chain...
@brt2412 I have a day off tomorrow so I'll definitely dive into it, really curious and Im sure will find something that could be useful for my own project too. Also if you get a chance check your DMs, sent you something 😄
