@Bornawoman99 Please ensure the nurse is using a small or even virginal speculum. And try different positions you can try lying on your side with the nurse performing the test from behind. May help if your cervix is difficult to locate. Also depending on your age oestrogen pessaries can help

@EmmaPunc I struggled through the nursing diploma 12years ago as I am not academic. However I never once failed a practical or placement. Always get lovely comments back from patients & did from my placement mentors. Being a nurse takes love, care & compassion these things can’t be taught!

@PUNC18_Lee It does actually specify should be given over 2mins I think this may lesson the pain/burning sensation. Many of my patients who I haven’t seen before comment on how I take longer than other nurse, so obviously others giving it too fast. X

Well nearly 7years at PMG and what a rollacoaster ride it’s been. I’ve learnt so much on my journey as a practice nurse. It’s the best job in the world I LOVE IT. But here’s to my new adventure as a practice nurse at a different practice. Made some amazing friends for life. 🥰
