@jasper_07 Also the onboarding and procurement process is slow which is another reason they will attempt to retain contractor staff as there is not the pace required to support project needs when they need to scale up

@JelenaAtLarge Was pretty confusing TBH. I did not realise it's not happened since 2016 (i.e. after my kids were born). So trying to get the kids to sit still whilst high as a kite on sugar to say "Happy Diwali" to their grandparents was a challenging experience

@PanzerDominik @mattharding @ghohpe IMO that would be 2. I.e. you have a domain specific architect embedded in the team, who likely was a senior developer. The architecture side you can pick up, but having that domain centric knowledge helps when having deep conversations with delivery teams or explaining to exec

@PanzerDominik @mattharding 100%. I had a project once whilst working for Federal Government to try and hunt down and find them so they could decommission systems identified as redundant. They were literally paying to keep these systems up and running as they were not sure who used them or needed them still

I’ve been into some big organisations that have zero governance setup around this and they try and set it up mid project
