You say I weasel out of arguments, yet you are answering a point I never made. I did not say Christianity causes poverty. My argument is that many Africans were taught to despise their own ancestors and spiritual systems, and that a people who do not respect themselves struggle to build confident societies. That is about identity, not economics.

On America, yes, around six in ten Americans identify as Christian. But no coloniser ever told Americans or Europeans that their grandparents were demons. Europeans adopted Christianity and made it their own. They wrote its theology, ran its institutions and exported it to the rest of the world.

They still celebrate the Greeks, the Romans, the Celts and the Vikings. Thursday is still named after Thor. The Christmas tree and the Yule log come from pre-Christian Europe, and the Venerable Bede wrote that Easter took its name from Eostre, an Anglo-Saxon goddess.

Europe folded its heritage into its faith. We were told to burn ours.
That also answers your third point. I am not mocking Africans for believing. Believe what you wish. I am asking why Africans who revere Abraham, a man from Mesopotamia, are taught to regard their own great-grandfathers as evil. Europeans were never asked to make that choice.

On the Bible, not every New Testament writer met Jesus. Paul never met him during his lifetime, and Luke opens his gospel by explaining that he compiled his account from those who were eyewitnesses. Luke is also widely believed not to have been Jewish.

As for stoning people to death, that proves the ancient Israelites took religion seriously, not that what they wrote is true. Every faith in history has had followers willing to kill for it.
So my question stands, and you have not answered it. Why should Abraham be revered in Zimbabwe while Mutaku, Mukusha and Chin’ono are forgotten?

🚨NEW: LINDSAY CLANCY JUROR SPEAKS OUT ON GMA THIS MORNING:

Juror Nick Dargie, 25, spoke with ABC News’ Aaron Katersky about what happened inside the jury room before the Lindsay Clancy trial ended in a mistrial.

Dargie says the jury ultimately stood 11–1 in favor of finding Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity, with one juror holding out for conviction. He told ABC that he repeatedly asked the holdout juror to identify evidence or witness testimony supporting his position and said the juror could not do so.

Dargie said:

“There wasn’t a single piece of evidence or witness testimony that he used to prove why he was thinking the way he was.”

The five-week trial ended in a mistrial on September 4 after seven days of deliberations. Lindsay Clancy remains charged in the 2023 deaths of her children Cora, Dawson and Callan Clancy. The parties are scheduled to return to court September 29 as the case moves forward.
