What a privilege it’s been to welcome our peripatetic teachers back this week and be able to hear the sounds of steady instrumental progress cascading through the department. We are lucky to have been listened to and supported by our school leaders to make this happen #CanDoMusic

Today I've been #writing for the first time in ages and (for now at least) it's been so satisfying to see words appear again! I'm determined to get this article written 💪💪#AcademicChatter#phdchat
@k_bstone @sarahlmawby @DawniDrums@Alex_Lamont Thanks Kate. I mostly try to make my research methods look a little bit like playing! It was great to hear you present your research more fully. Such a great few days
@EHMacGregor I really enjoyed the nuanced perspective that you gave in your presentation. As I said, I think you are grappling with issues that feel really pertinent to my own research and wider interests as a music educator. Thank you for speaking so clearly and informatively
Day 3 or #SEMPREAutumn2020 and I get the pleasure of chairing the first session on Health & Wellbeing with presentations from Dr Dawn Rose and @EHMacGregor
Such an excellent end to day 2 of #SEMPREAutumn2020 with an excellent keynote from @Alex_Lamont I really love the idea of a #desertislanddiscs research method. Really relevant and interesting work.
Day 2 of #SEMPREAutumn2020 has been great so far. Lots of interesting presentations, I really enjoyed the presentation by @DanaSwarbrick about experiences of Kama Muta associated with online music events in the context COVID-19
Looking forward to day 2 of the #SEMPREAutumn2020 conference. Sessions on music and wellbeing, technology, Covid-19 and a keynote presentation by @Alex_Lamont! Join us if you can! https://t.co/zYINvPtetg @LeedsUniMusic

@Johnfinney8 I really enjoyed reading this, it appealed in lots of different ways: rethinking and innovating even as an experienced teacher; facing the challenge of being a musical music teacher; reports of students' own shifting musical identities. It made me miss the classroom.
Having returned to the 2018 about the state of music education I am remembering my frustration with some of the poorly informed arguments made and the limited perspectives that are given a platform by our political system https://t.co/gGAN39Gv0X #musiceducation#houseoflords
I'm in the early stages of some thematic analysis and, as always, I'm excited by how insightfully children can articulate their perceptions and experiences. #thematicanalysis#phdlife#childrensvoice
Having read this article I came across Gert Biesta's work and his concept of a teleological concept of education with three domains of purpose. Found it got me thinking, even if those ideas are not yet well formed
Really pleased to see the publication of my policy review with @AllyDaubney@d_mackrill@GarySpruce1@ISM_music in Children & Society on the decline of music education in schools in England. A bleak picture that needs addressing. https://t.co/97KKEeasYB
