VANCEBURG, Ky. — I interviewed Rep. Thomas Massie this afternoon, on the eve of his primary race, as he fights for his political life against Trump-endorsed Ed Gallrein.
"I'm very optimistic," he told us. "The fact that the president's losing sleep over my race, posting on social media, the fact they had to send the Secretary of War to the district, that means they're worried."
"It's gonna end tomorrow," he added of Trump's revenge tour. "I'm gonna win. And it's gonna be the biggest revenge loss ever."
More in thread, including why Massie thinks his race is different from Indiana and Sen. Bill Cassidy, why he thinks Trump is targeting him, whether he thinks Trump is fit for office, and more, w/ @SyedahAsghar@MSNOWNews.

@WHCA President and CBS News Senior White House Correspondent @weijia Jiang showed America last night why she is so respected and so admired, not just as a journalist, but as a human being. Weijia worked so incredibly hard to put this event together, to honor and to celebrate the First Amendment and the Freedom of the Press. In the midst of all of the chaos and danger, Weijia conducted herself with class, with poise, with calm and with the utmost professionalism. And in true Weijia form, she immediately traveled to the White House to cover the President’s press conference. Weijia is a true professional and, more importantly, an amazing human being. America loves you, Weijia 🇺🇸
Bullet holes, first aid remnants: Scenes from the WHCD shooting aftermath
I was covering the red carpet last night when shots rang out. This morning after law enforcement left the Hilton, my @MSNOWNews producer @lilliebnews + I (to our surprise) were able to walk into the scene.
Some personal news ... this week, I stepped into a new role as @CNBC's DC bureau chief. It’s never been a more exciting time to cover the intersection of politics and the economy -- and I'm grateful to work with the smartest people doing it every day. https://t.co/fCxu7fQXA1

Hard charging really doesn't sum up @MacFarlaneNews He is the hardest working person in the newsroom (at all hours), an encyclopedia of knowledge, passionate about the issues he cares about and just the NICEST colleague you will ever have.
Just in: Scott MacFarlane, the hard charging CBS News justice and congressional correspondent, has announced he's leaving the news unit to pursue other ventures. His exit was disclosed on Monday's AM editorial call
This year’s Special Award goes to “one of the finest journalists of his generation,” said the jury, @BBCSteveR, @BBCNews’ Russia Editor.
“Our media industry is often criticised for not sticking with stories, for moving on too quickly to the next breaking news. But not our winner of this award. He has demonstrated devotion to his patch and a depth of expertise that is unrivalled. He has chosen to base himself in a country that he loves but nevertheless places him under daily intimidation and danger” #RTSAwards
A lot has been made about the one line in @CBSWalsh goodbye but the whole thing is worth a read. She lifted other women up, mastered her beat and deserves respect for an incredible body of work.
Veteran CBS News producer Mary Walsh takes leave (first reported by Guardian)
"We've been told to aim our reporting at a particular part of the political spectrum. Honestly, I don't know how to do that."
