The stakes are clear:
If President Biden fails to act, thousands of immigrant families will be at risk of being sent back to horrific conditions that put their lives in grave danger.
He needs to act now to protect these communities and keep families together.
Immigrants will face some of the greatest human consequences of this election. While Democrats have a moral responsibility to protect them, they also have a responsibility to sell a better policy vision to American communities on the future of immigration reform.
Holding back tears: “It was a terrible night for women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hard working immigrants who make this country great, for health care, for our climate, for science, for journalism, for justice, for free speech, for poor people, for the middle class, for seniors who rely on social security, for our allies in Ukraine, for NATO, for the truth, for democracy, for decency, for everyone who voted again him, and guess what—it was a bad night for everyone who voted for him too, you just don’t realize it yet” @jimmykimmel@JimmyKimmelLive
I have a friend. His mother is an undocumented immigrant. He admitted today that he voted for Trump due to concerns about inflation.
I just don't even know what to say anymore: he's college educated, but he still thinks Trump wasn't talking about his mom.
I am hearing that Ob/Gyn residency applicants are pulling their applications from red states.
As someone who now lives in a red state, my heart breaks for the women here. But I also understand.
I have been asked on two different networks and by two different male hosts today whether abortion rights are as important to women as the economy. I can't say it more clearly: reproductive freedom is economic freedom. They are intrinsically intwined, as every woman knows.
The Washington Post’s decision to withhold an endorsement that had been written & approved in an election where core democratic principles are at stake was a terrible mistake & an insult to the paper’s own longstanding standard of regularly endorsing candidates since 1976.
Michelle Obama: If we don't get this election right, your wife, your daughter, your mother, we as women will become collateral damage to your rage. So are you as men prepared to look into the eyes of the women you love and tell them you supported this assault?
My friend Mariel Garza just resigned as editorials editor of @latimes after the newspaper’s owner blocked the editorial board’s plan to endorse Kamala Harris for president. https://t.co/etvsPubDMV
Since he didn’t answer the question: undocumented farmworkers make up nearly 50% of the farm labor work force. Trump’s mass deportation plans would not only cost billions, it will quite literally decimate the food supply chain and our economy.
A strongman who promises to purge the diseased vermin poisoning the country, ban press outlets he deems enemies of the people, and protect and liberate the public from the enemy within who hate the country…this is straightforwardly fascist.
This is a flat out lie. We’re working with all partners around the clock to get help to people. Trump’s lies and conspiracy theories have hurt the morale of first responders and people who lost everything, helped scam artists and put government and rescue workers in danger. - RC
