The Tour De France has been on free to air TV here since 1985. The early versions were part of the fabric of my childhood. It’s shameful then that today was the last on ITV as it moves behind a paywall. As great as TNT’s coverage is - and it is - this isn’t how you grow a sport.
@itvcycling And I’m off again 😭 We were lucky to have you for as long as we did. Thank you everyone involved in bringing us this great race, you will be very much missed.
@nedboulting I can’t imagine how you and the team must feel and I can’t imagine a summer without being able to spend time in the company of you all. It’s been a constant every year that has brought me & my family so much joy and we will miss it hugely. Thank you for all the memories.
I seem to have upset the @Nigel_Farage fan club - so let me be clear.
This man sows hate, lies and division.
He is a grifter and a conman.
He does not represent the vast majority of Britons.
RT if you agree
P.s. multiculturalism is great.
Spent the day driving round the wilds of west Cumbria on polling station inspection duty. As well as doing my civic duty it gave me a chance to catch up on the brilliant @neverstraysfar podcast. Thanks for the company on my ever so slightly less glamorous journey
Where to bloody start? There isn't enough British food to buy because the crass, malformed, malignant clown-show of Brexit that you promoted, has undermined food production, courtesy of ill-thought out subsidies. Plus, brexit-driven border controls have stymied imports.
This is so well deserved, such a brilliant and moving book. I’ve bought copies of it for friends @CraigJBarker and family who have all loved it as much as me. Congratulations @nedboulting 👏👏
Congratulations to @nedboulting & @BloomsburySport on 1923 being named Cycling Book of the Year at the Sunday Times Book Awards last night! 🚴♀️🏆
