A deaf cat is missing after hitching a ride four miles from home in a delivery van.
Dobby lives in The Meadows, Nottingham, but on 20 May he hopped inside a driver's vehicle as a stowaway and rode to the Carlton area of the city.

The white tom cat has a tracker tag in his collar but the trail went cold after he slipped out of it in a garden.

Rescue charity Beauty's Legacy is working to track down Dobby. Senior animal welfare officer Lisa Dean said: "The fact that he's completely deaf, makes him exceptionally vulnerable."

Beauty's Legacy is planning to install cameras and food stations in the area where he was last seen.

Dean added that there had been potential sightings of a white cat not seen locally.

She said: "Anyone that lives in the Carlton area, just be vigilant if they see a pure white cat that they've not seen before.
"He's very distinctive - he's got bright blue eyes, a very pink nose.
He's very inquisitive and very friendly, but obviously, he's now displaced in an area he has no idea where he is, so he's going to be skittish.

"Put some food down, put some water out to attract him, and if you see him, call us and one of us can get over there."

Despite appearing in modest condition, the man is judged to still show concern by prioritizing street animals. Lieutenant Lily-Mae Fisher, 31, Britain’s only serving female Royal Navy Commando, Lieutenant Commander Chris Gayson and Petty Officer Owen Green have been named as the three crew killed in a Merlin Mk4 helicopter crash.

The aircraft came down in a field at Sourton Cross near Okehampton, Devon, during a training exercise in the early hours of Wednesday 3 June 2026. It exploded on impact.

Locals have hailed the crew as heroes, saying they deliberately steered away from nearby homes and a Travelodge hotel to avoid greater loss of life.

Lily-Mae, from Virginia Water in Surrey, was a geology graduate from Imperial College London who had appeared on ITV’s Take Me Out and Ninja Warrior UK.

Her family said: “Lily-Mae was an extraordinary woman, daughter, sister, and partner… She has left an immeasurable hole in our lives.”

The Ministry of Defence has confirmed all three families have been informed. A full investigation is under way.

💔 Five Innocent Kittens K*lled After Being Thrown From Moving Vehicle on I-65, Alabama Man Arrested

A Birmingham man has been arrested after police say he threw five kittens from a moving vehicle on Interstate 65 in Homewood, leading to their deaths.

Thomas Ronald Liccione, 21, is charged with aggravated animal cruelty. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail at 5 p.m. Sunday and later released after posting a $15,000 bond.

According to Homewood police Sgt. Mark Trippe, authorities received multiple 911 calls around 1 p.m. Saturday reporting that a driver was throwing kittens from a vehicle near Lakeshore Parkway.

Officers quickly located the vehicle on Lakeshore Drive and detained the driver.

Investigators said multiple witnesses reported seeing Liccione throw five kittens out of the vehicle's window while driving on the interstate.

Tragically, all five kittens were struck and killed by passing vehicles.

Eight kittens have been found abandoned in a box in woodland and are being cared for at a rescue centre.

The youngest kitten is thought to be only five weeks old, rescuers say, and there are concerns more animals may have been left behind.
The animals were found in Ashtead Woods in Surrey on Monday afternoon and are now at Byfleet Cat Rescue.

A spokesperson appealed for information saying the kittens, thought to be from three different litters, were so young they should still be with their mother.
"Our priority is the welfare of any remaining kittens and any nursing mother cats who may still require assistance," they add.

The rescue centre said a member of the public found the animals and took them to Wildlife Aid, where a volunteer from Byfleet Cat Rescue was present.
'No judgement'

All the kittens appear to be healthy, the spokesperson says, but adds: "At this age, kittens should still be nursing from their mother.

"Early separation is far from ideal, as they miss out on vital antibodies provided through their mother's milk, which help protect them from illness, and support healthy development."

The rescue centre said volunteers were "passing no judgement" on why the animals had been left.

The spokesperson says: "If the person responsible is struggling to cope or needs support, we would much rather help than see animals put at risk."
