@MVGutierrezMD Yeah but you looked it up because you care about doing it right. That's the overachiever in you. The alternative is just to throw the eggs in and see what happens.
@lindaAKAMatron@DavidPocock Many many specialists want to work in the public system. It's all I ever wanted. But there is no funding for public jobs. I ended up in private then left medicine altogether because it wasn't easy to juggle as a primary carer.
@DanconiaLoken@MVGutierrezMD If you believe covid to be just a normal part of life now, then your behaviour will reflect that and you'll take that risk. If you believe you have some agency and that there is risk in repeat infection, you'll take some action. Everyone has a choice as to how they respond.
@mariamtokhi I have faith that the values I am instilling in my children and the diversity of the student cohort at my local public secondary school teaches life skills that trump perceived benefits of private education.
@DrESigston@nick_coatsworth I was an ENT resident many moons ago and I remember you as a consultant who I respected and admired so much, and this reminds me why.
@ACTINOSProject My anaesthetist husband was denied annual leave for THE WHOLE YEAR when he applied at the start of 2022. He was given only 2 weeks following Xmas. If that gets cancelled there will be fury.
@amapresident We know long weekends are associated with lower standards of patient care and increased adverse events. Victoria now has a four day weekend. I don't think this was thought through very well at all.
@amapresident This is very upsetting for those of us in medicine who voiced concerns early on about viral oncogenesis as well as the potential for chronic infection. We copped a lot of abuse on this forum for 'living in fear'.
@erinrileyau We need to be cognisant of who may be reading these threads and what information they might take away. I am glad that you are receiving good medical care and it was not deemed serious in your case.
@erinrileyau As another dr, I think that it's important to clarify that other people should not assume that the advice you received from your doctor applies to them. I would not want people to assume coughing up blood is normal in covid and to not seek care. It is potentially very serious.
