If you are at the #RGSIBG2024 tomorrow come along to our two exciting hybrid sessions on (Counter)-Mapping for Disaster Risk Reduction: Challenging Inequalities in Knowledge Systems in Development Contexts in the RGS-IBG Drayson Room from 9am. @DevGeogsRG@NUGeog@NUGlobalDev
@PLOSONE@SajagNepal@NUGeog@GeogDurham@KatieOven@Dr_TRob@NUGlobalDev Using a forward-looking approach, we identify a priori buildings that were later impacted by landslide debris, providing a valuable window of opportunity to reduce the impacts of these large events and to inform planning for future events.
Our new paper in @PLOSONE: The dynamic threat from landslides following large continental earthquakes. We show the threat posed by landslides to buildings following the 2015 Gorkha earthquake remains for long periods of time, moving through the landscape in a predictable way.
PRESENTING the first episode of Sajag-Nepal's "Notes from the Field"!
This episode discusses cascading hazards in Nepal, with your hosts for the series @nyimadorj, Dipak Basnet, @AnuradhaPuri2 and @tek_dong. Enjoy!
