A wonderful ceremony to end my 4 year long journey to a PhD in Infectious Diseases. I couldn’t be happier♥️
I am extremely grateful for everyone who was part of this and supported me!
My lab is hiring a core scientist to lead bioinformatics analytics, exploring large human-animal interface datasetsand mentoring five AMR-focused PhDs students(https://t.co/zGaNnBiW6W).
A PhD & Postdoc position on @Cardano Blockchain traceability will also be advertised soon.
The NHS is crumbling. Patients are having to wait years for their operations due to a lack of staff.
But did you know that 20,000 NHS doctors are potentially unable to train as consultants & GPs due to government restrictions? That’s 20,000 doctors who could help cut the waiting lists and help the public, but are being deliberately held back from doing so.
This is because the government has restricted speciality training spaces for doctors. @wesstreeting could easily increase these, along with consultants and GP posts, but has only committed to ‘reviewing’ the situation.
A review won’t help those 20,000 doctors who are out of a training job this august. It won’t help the public who are crying out to see a doctor without having to wait years for an appointment.
It beggars belief that we have a shortage of NHS staff, yet we are also not utilising the scarce few we do have.
The public deserve better than this.
Musk isn’t making government smaller.
He’s shutting down the parts of the government that have been investigating his companies for safety violations and ties to Russia.
Congratulations to the PhD candidate in Gaza whose PhD I examined today, online.
A fine piece of work.
A PhD is hard in normal circumstances. When your teachers, supervisor & Vice Chancellor are all murdered during scholasticide, the process is unimaginably difficult. أهنئك

Because of anti vaccine sentiment, the British government commissioned an enquiry into whether vaccination was safe and effective.
They found that it was (of course).
In 1896
Now, nearly 130 years on, RFK Jr and colleagues want to do the same.
The findings will be the same
If H5N1 bird flu becomes a pandemic there will be no doubt about where it started and why. No arguing over lab leaks or bats, nature or bioweapon. It will be made in America by capitalism, the dairy industry and the politicians they bribed to do nothing
Two years ago today, Afghan women were banned from universities.
The Taliban promised they could study "honorable" fields like medicine—then banned that too this month.
Afghanistan is now the only place on Earth where women are banned from every field of study.
