WAITING FOR A NEW STRIKE

The U.S.-based analytical center, the Institute for the Study of War, reports that Russia has moved to open threats against Ukraine, including warnings of a new large-scale attack. This was stated in the organization's latest assessment.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia's earlier warning urging all foreign embassies to evacuate Kyiv remains in effect.

According to analysts, Lavrov's statement could indicate that Russian forces are preparing another major strike against Ukraine in the near future.

"The Kremlin continues to brazenly threaten retaliatory strikes against Ukraine, which could be significant amid growing domestic fuel shortages," ISW analysts noted.

Ukraine, and Kyiv in particular, are preparing. However, officials are not expecting anything fundamentally different. As before, Russian forces are likely to target the most sensitive civilian and infrastructure sites.

Experts believe that Putin has only one remaining "mechanism of retaliation," which he has relied on for years: another large missile and drone attack. A typical scenario could involve roughly 50–70 missiles and 500–700 drones, maintaining an approximate 1:10 ratio.

"This is the tool Putin uses for 'revenge,' later claiming that he has responded to something," the analysts said.

Monitoring channels have also reported that the Russian military is conducting final preparations for a massive missile strike on Ukrainian territory. The attack could involve a larger number of weapons than is usually observed.

Oleksandr Musiienko, a serviceman in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and military analyst, likewise believes that Russia is unlikely to reduce the intensity of its attacks on Ukraine.

On the contrary, he argues that Russian forces may be preparing new large-scale strikes in the very near future.

@AskTSA I need to use a cane for walking due to a medical issue. I am currently using a trekking pole with a flat top and rubber tip over the carbide tip. Am I allowed to take this on board? It is Leki brand and compresses down small once I am seated. Thank you!
