Larry Price, a one-of-a-kind homegrown talent who helped shape University of Hawaii football and local sports media, died Friday.

The Kaʻaʻawa native fell in love with football at Roosevelt High School then played for UH, serving as a three-time team captain.

After a brief stint with the LA Rams, Price returned to Manoa and served as head football coach from 1974 to 1976.

He was just as instrumental behind the mic, hosting the beloved "Perry and Price" morning radio show with Michael W. Perry for over 30 years.
