- The assassination of Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband and the shooting of on State Senator John Hoffman and his wife
- Luigi Mangione's assassination of Brian Thompson
- The assassination of Charlie Kirk

Political violence is contagious. It is spreading. It is not confined to one side or belief system. It should terrify us all.

The foundation of a free society is the ability to participate in it without fear of violence. Political violence is always an attack against us all. You have to be so blind not to see that.

Be suspicious of people who are trying to convince you to “go to war” against Americans who aren’t in your same political party. Most Americans are good — they’re just trying to do right for themselves and their families. This violent, inflammatory rhetoric has to stop.

It always makes me laugh when Hawkeye fans rag on the ISU campus and Ames. The campus has been noted as one of the most beautiful campuses in the country. Ames is regularly listed as one of the best college towns.

Last night, I took a run with my dog around Jack Trice Stadium. As I was trying to catch a glimpse of the @BNKonFOX setup, I failed to realize the sidewalk was ending and fell ungracefully off the curb. Result: sprained ankle. I’m now watching the #Cyhawk game at home. 😞
