JOHANNESBURG – High Court Rules Citizens May Question and Record Police Without Fear of Arrest
In a landmark judgment, the Johannesburg High Court has affirmed the rights of South African citizens when interacting with law enforcement. The court ruled that individuals are entitled to question police officers and record their conduct without the threat of arrest. The ruling strengthens public oversight and reinforces constitutional rights to freedom of expression and access to information.
Issued just 22 hours ago, the judgment is expected to have significant implications for police accountability and citizen empowerment across the country.
Our lizard overlords insist that the South African Reserve Bank must be “independent” of political control. They say this is common sense.
However, what they don’t say is that the SARB’s “independence” is not about shielding monetary policy from politics, that it’s about shielding it from the people.
Because in reality, central bank “independence” is a clever little firewall. Not for the economy, but for the financial sector. It’s there to protect bankers, bondholders, and the international investor class from annoyances like employment and economic justice.
So, the real question isn’t why the Reserve Bank is independent. It’s who it’s independent from. It’s certainly not from the private financial sector. In fact, the SARB frequently consults with and is staffed by commercial banks and asset managers.
What it’s really separated from is the state, more specifically, from any elected official with ideas about reducing unemployment or, heaven forbid, using fiscal policy to stimulate the economy. Why? Because those things might cause inflation. Inflation is bad if you’re a lender. If you’re a worker? Well, it depends. If your wages rise along with prices, it’s not a big deal. If you’re a debtor, inflation actually helps. But the SARB doesn’t lose sleep over that.
So, who does inflation hurt? Banksters and asset managers with Italian leather chairs. Inflation erodes the real value of their rentier cash flows.
So naturally, the SARB treats any inflation outside 3 - 6% like a biblical plague. What about 60% youth unemployment? Well, that’s just “structural.”
The SARB’s obsessive devotion to “price stability” is less about stability for society, and more about stability for Excel financial models. Thus, the central bank’s obsession with inflation disproportionately serves those who live off interest and asset income. It is no accident that high interest rates and “anti-inflation” policies, involving rising unemployment, are celebrated in the financial press.
So, if a government proposes something truly scandalous, like taxing wealth or investing in human beings, bondholders can just hike borrowing costs. This way, financial markets get to discipline elected government officials. It’s called “market-based accountability,” which is Latin for “bend over and take it like a champ”.
Supporters of the SARB’s “independence” often claim that monetary policy is “too important to be left to politicians.” They insist that it should be run by “experts” trained in economics, “free from ideological bias.” But this ignores the fact that economics itself is not neutral. As a matter of fact, the dominant model guiding the Bank’s decision-making on things such as “monetarism” and “inflation targeting” is deeply ideological and mostly voodoo science. (https://t.co/Wz0FGrXzJt)
Ultimately, the Reserve Bank’s “independence” sends a reassuring signal to foreign investors that nobody here is going to do anything too exciting. We won’t print money to fund redistribution or mess with the sacred cow of inflation targeting. We are credible people. To the markets. Not to the unemployed. Not to the underemployed. But credible to the reptiles who move billions with a keystroke and crash currencies over lunch.
Because in the end, “credibility” doesn’t mean trustworthiness to the public, it means obedience to capital.

The ATM has taken a major step toward introducing the Foreign Agents Bill to Parliament!
The Draft Bill is now with Parliament’s legal department.
This is a crucial move to expose foreign agents hiding behind NGOs while pushing external agendas.
Prof Chris Malikane (27 Nov 2020):
We're an economic minority & numerical majority - a useless majority.
We must unite & develop a vision across political parties, an Africa Vision for SA
Chinese, Indians, British, etc. have visions for their countries
We must not be divided by petty issues. We share the experience of being oppressed & exploited
An Afrikaner in Durban & Jozi are one, they'll deal with you.
We need to unite.

Why are only alternative media outlets reporting the huge list of side effects Pfizer reported?
It's one thing to play down the importance of the documents, but it's another thing to ignore them altogether.
That's because these media outlets know they're complicit. Damning!
