Universities in Iran — latest developments:

Students at major campuses including Sharif, Amirkabir, Al Zahra and others have gathered inside their university campuses in renewed protest.

Videos show students standing face-to-face with Basij members within university grounds, chanting anti-regime slogans and raising the Lion and Sun flag.

In several clips, chants expressing support for Reza Pahlavi including calls of “Long live the King” can be clearly heard.

Some footage also shows the flag of the Islamic Republic being set on fire.

What reportedly began at some of Iran’s most prominent universities has now spread to other campuses, with similar scenes emerging elsewhere.
