This hardwood #knobkerrie was reportedly brought to the UK from South Africa in the 1950s. According to its provenance, it was used as a #police or prison service #baton. It has a stitched leather-covered head and a leather wrist thong.
Is that attribution correct?

My latest purchase on eBay.
A wonderful pair of antique, ceramic pug dogs with glass eyes.
Made I'm sure in Bo'ness, Scotland - which is often called the "Scottish Staffordshire".
Do you like them??

This formidable chap is inspired by the snuff-taking 19th Staffordshire Toby Jugs you might come across online or in antique shops.
The noticeable difference is of course his spout, which has turned him into a teapot. He measures 9 inches.

Both date to around 1870.
Figures include animals, artisans, royalty, politicians, military folk, literary characters, notorious criminals, etc.
So now I'm on the lookout for more!
