Bengal's industrial revival in the jute sector continues. The Naihati Jute Mill in North 24 Parganas will resume operations on 3 July, restoring livelihoods for nearly 2,500 workers after the unit shut down on 6 June. The decision followed a tripartite meeting led by the state Labour Department involving the mill management, workers' unions and government officials.

The reopening follows the restart of Alliance Mills (Jagatdal) on 17 June and Kankinara Jute Mill on 1 July, signalling coordinated efforts to revive Bengal's historic jute belt through negotiated settlements. If sustained, these reopenings could strengthen industrial stability and protect thousands of manufacturing jobs across the region.
