As #AAPIHM comes to a close KF wants to share some #AAPI Firsts. The 1st recorded settlement of Asians in the U.S. was in 1763. In 1956, Dalip Singh Saund became the 1st Asian American elected into U.S. Congress. AAPI Heritage Week was recognized in 1978, then expanded in 1992
KF's Cultural Safari resources are designed for school districts and counties and delivered through the classroom. It facilitates learning about the Sikh-American community and augments the Social Studies curriculum at no cost to schools https://t.co/tDMx08dnGm
As the school year is winding down Kaur Foundation wants to highlight our Heritage Toolkit! The toolkit is a great tool for representation of Sikh Americans and other minorities. It organized around three themes: Foundations, Historical Perspectives, & Windows & Mirrors
