Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar's mother, Mata Upkar Kaur Ji who passed away on 28 December 2020, and his wife, Bibi Navnit Kaur, have been fighting a long legal battle since 1994.
Prof. Bhullar's father and uncle were killed in police custody in 1991.
In 2002, he was sentenced to death in a controversial split Supreme Court decision, which was based on an unsigned confession.
However, his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment in 2014.
We have become aware that CBFC issued 120 cuts to film, including changing name of Jaswant Singh Khalra, removing Gurbaani, reference to extrajudicial killing numbers ,real dates and names of places (eg. Tarn Taran) (1/4)
