Jon McKenzie, CEO of Cenovus, came out swinging on their Q1 conference call today. Great to see CEO's becoming more vocal about our squandered opportunity! To summarize: no other oil producing country is doing this to themselves...time for Canada to wake up!
A very powerful & passionate speech by MP John Brassard who is the chair of the ethics committee.
There is a real problem when “The opposition party (in Canada) is held to greater account than the Government”
Canada is the only G7 country without a strategic oil reserve, even though we have the most oil in the ground.
Let’s build up a reserve to fuel our friends, power paycheques, and grow our leverage in a crisis.
Name me one key metric that has improved in the last decade:
Lower taxes?
Affordable homes?
Affordable Food?
Better healthcare?
Lower crime?
Improved immigration?
Cheaper tuition?
Improved OAS?
Not a single one.
And people continue to vote for this because words, not actions, make people “feel good”.
Guys like Matt Jeneroux rub salt to the wound. They campaign to fight for us, and get elected 6 times as a Conservative.
Only to join the party that created this mess.
People like Matt, make Canadians hate politics.
The Carney Liberals still don’t get it
Oil & gas is FOUNDATIONAL to Canada.
While the world dumps Net Zero fantasies, Canada keeps CRIPPLING ITSELF
Reverse Net Zero or Canada heads toward VENEZUELA.
SNAP ELECTION. NOW.
LET THE REAL PEOPLE LEAD.
Good news & bad news.
Good news for the end of a narco-state.
Bad news for the Canadian economy.
Canadians have no idea what this means for our oil industry & our economy.
A US “friendly” President will be installed.
The US will lift sanctions from Venezuela & heavy crude oil will be imported into the US.
Meaning, Canada’s primary customer for crude, the US, will now have cheaper options available.
By Canada not pushing through with Keystone XL, expansion to Asia and Europe, will cost us dearly.
Trump wanted Keystone XL. He mentioned it several times earlier this year.
And now he’s got something bigger and better: the biggest oil reserves on earth.
This was the key leverage we had on CUSMA… the US dependency on our oil.
Now that’s gone.
Carney took too long to negotiate, Trump likely realized that Canada will never supply the quantities of oil/gas the US wants/needs & instead, he “diversified”.
I know this is going to make Carney sweat.
It’s not good news for Canada’s economy.
We had a potential for a monopoly & we blew it.
Thousands of municipalities provide clean water for citizens and they don't get the billions that reserves do.
Maybe it's time to stop begging for money and start asking chiefs what the fuck they did with the money they already got.
In the United States business investment is up as they cut useless regulations and welcome companies.
In Canada, we won’t cut regulation and the PM puts out a list of preferred projects that still may not happen.
It’s crazy.

Pitchers with 10+ strikeouts through 5 innings in multiple postseason games:
Trey Yesavage
Gerrit Cole
Yesavage is the first to do so twice in the same postseason
Kirk describes the slow-motion train wreck of Liberal policies leading to the downsizing of Imperial.
The Liberals have killed the national economy to satisfy their Montreal fringe activist green base that wants to kill oil and gas.
Making Canada globally uncompetitive - and moving Canadian GDP negative in the same period the US is up over 3pc
Carney reversed a few policies but it’s not enough to stop losing business and eventually economic sovereignty to the USA.
Something dumb now happens *every day* in Canada. A dumb court decision, a dumb government order, a dumb new regulatory mandate. We used to go *months* without dumb things happening.
Canada, the energy superpower shipping ethical oil & gas to the world. An agriculture giant that feeds nations. Technologically advanced. Prosperous. Unified in strength & freedom defending the rights of individuals.
This is our potential.
We need a leader who knows it.
I love Canada. I'm Canadian. But Canada is no longer a serious country. It is irrevocably changed by a mixture of parasitized minds, cancerous socialism, and suicidal empathy.
