@NicholasTyrone It’s a good policy proposal - reduces upfront moving costs & lubricates the housing market. Lower income pensioners would need to be exempt but not a bad thing to pressure wealthier pensioners to downsize & increase options for young family buyers. Council Tax reform also needed.
Good to see Starmer instantly recognising one of the really significant advantages of the House of Lords: allowing a prime minister to staff their Cabinet with experts from outside of the limited Commons talent pool.
Campaign spokesperson Kevin Munoz told Axios: "Campaigns are hard. No one came here under any other illusion. But I can personally tell you there's a fire lit under all of us and keeps us going every single day."
Imagine Mrs Thatcher in Normandy to commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of our D-Day heroes, with President Reagan, President Mitterrand and Chancellor Kohl. She wouldn't dream of telling Douglas Hurd to stand in for her so she could get back for an interview with Brian Walden.
Don't think Rishi Sunak was aware that a boat filled with Lib Dems popped up behind him on the campaign trail today...
And I'm pretty sure that's the Lib Dem Deputy Leader, Daisy Cooper on it too...
Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020. Since then, he hasn’t shown up for a debate.
Now he’s acting like he wants to debate me again.
Well, make my day, pal.
Alabama Sen. Katie Britt said she was assured by House Speaker Mike Johnson that her rebuttal to Biden's State of the Union last week would be "fine."

Non-Jews with any understanding of the 20th century may have asked themselves before whether they would have protected Jews, put their lives on the line in public, acted when others wouldn’t. We now have to answer.
“First Prigozhin. Now Kadyrov." - Russian Telegram channels write. Some say that he has already died, some that he is in critical condition and fell into a coma due to severe kidney failure or that he was poisoned.
Up until recently, Prigozhin and Kadyrov were the only two people in Russia with significant power resources who allowed themselves their personal “discussions” about the course of the war.
After the murder of Prigozhin, I immediately wrote that Kadyrov would be next.
Let's see if Putin's regime is really getting rid of everything and everyone who can afford autonomy and his own private heavily armed army.
If Kadyrov dies, the situation in Chechnya might change. Will Putin be able to keep control over Chechnya? Will it become the center of resistance once more? This could be a chance that people of Chechnya could make use of.
