There were many Muslims in the Lancashire town I grew up in during the 1960s & 70s, largely textile workers that our mills needed. Even more in the Leed's suburb I lived in as a student. Since retiring, I've travelled widely around the UK, I do freelance writing, visiting Muslim areas in Bradford, Keighley, Luton, Rochdale & many others. In over 60 years I have never felt fear or intimidation from Muslims, far from it; often warmth, welcome & good humour. Of course, there are some despicable people who have done terrible things who identify as Muslims, just as there are in every type of community. To be honest, I've felt the greatest sense of fear & insecurity amongst young, often drunk, white men, especially on public transport & at night in some town centres. I don't see Muslim youngsters engaging in the kinds of anti-social behaviour that 'some' white kids do. That's my experience, in my view Islamophobia is utterly disgusting & needs calling out. Judge individuals, never entire groups, that is a road to very dark places that I'll never walk. I'm sorry if this angers or offends anyone, but this is a forum for sharing opinions & experiences; these are mine formed over 6 decades. I am saddened & concerned by how much traction some Islamophobes get on here, from Lowe to Yaxley-Lenon, they don't yet speak for most of us & we must never let their hate poison & divide us.
@SomHoncho Somalias problem is not impossible to solve, and barre likely benefited from the Waqf framework. Defined as endowment, a waqf is an asset allocation of which the profit is used to maintain the asset itself and to finance other institutions like schools for example.
No condemnation from our politicians.
No outrage from the media.
No action by the police.
British Muslims are sent a clear message:
You are fair game for hatred.
@MALHACHIMI You’re asking two questions here: 1. What’s our reaction to the relationship between to Muslim leaders, and 2. Should we be critical of Muslim leaders. In fact, I clearly remember the advice of our prophet pbuh to never criticise Muslim leaders; doing so will cause more harm.
@PolitlcsUK@PolitlcsUK Could you please take this down? This is beyond ridiculous.
This man is not Somali for Gods sake. Our community would have already called this out and condemned this man if he were our own.
Take this down!
@Saldata117539@kulanpost In a world where people are being unalived in front of our own eyes, yet we can’t do anything to support or alleviate their pain, why is it that we turn on each other and use violence when there’s no need. May god protect the innocent and punish the criminals.
This soldier of “resistance-axis” killed hundreds of innocent civilians in a mass-grave style execution.
This criminal was working for the Assad regime and allies.
This was no resistance-axis. This was a mass-killing Zionist style coalition.
Pay heed.
@GodLogic_GL@TeamYouTube@mohammedhijab If MJ has IP claim to his live stream because he is the one hosting it on his own channel, he allows you to join but makes explicit provisions you can only live stream with him. Why do you think in this case YouTube will aid you in this matter, at the expense of MJs IP rights?
@paleochristcon@GodLogic_GL@TeamYouTube This is hardly rocket science. Allow me to simplify things for you. Mj was hosting own live > he allowed avery to join > after talking terms MJ was clear that avery is only allowed to live stream. After all, its MJs account therefore has claim to intellectual property.
@SubboorAhmad The whole IRGC need to be caught like this too. Dont forget it was the Iranian Regime that was backing Bashar. @MrAdnanRashid always talks about the crux of the matter, but it seems like you, hijab and Co have distanced yourselves from brother Adnan. Sad state of affairs.
@InaOlad Akhi why do you always lie don’t you fear Allah? I followed you to get insight on real issues concerning my country, instead all I see is you tweet absolute waffle. First the Bab Al mandeb and now this? Get a grip man
@sugabelly@UGSP1 South Africa is like the angry husband that is too cowardice to stand up to his bullies. Instead, he goes home and be4ts his wife to a pulp.
@RmSalih As someone from Somalia I condem this move by the separatist state and I appreciate that you’re doing the same. Please be consisting by calling out Iran Roshan. Shia rafidis unalived 500,000 Muslims in Syria.
@SomHoncho@InaOlad It also needs to operate under the Waqf system so our brothers and sisters can benefit from a free national health framework. In an Islamic country no one should have to pay to receive good health.
@Maydhalaalis Somaliland will always be apart of Somalia irrespective of your views. And if you don’t believe me just visit history, when the confederates tried to secede from the federation, and was brought back into the union by force, under the conscientious leadership of president Lincoln
