QUEEN RIDERS RECAP
Back in June, we expanded the Queen Rider program—empowering 3,700 women across Nigeria with credit-backed tricycles, made right here in Nigeria.
From Port Harcourt to the rest of the country, this isn’t just about transport—it’s about ownership, income, and real economic freedom for women.
We’re proud to keep supporting women, local factories, and stronger households—one tricycle at a time.

3,700 Women. One Nationwide Movement.
Earlier this week in Port Harcourt, CREDICORP officially launched the nationwide expansion of Queen Riders — a bold initiative putting credit-backed tricycles in the hands of 3,700 Nigerian women across all 36 states and the FCT.
Through our S.C.A.L.E. initiative, and in partnership with @TvsNigeria , @GammaMobility and @AccionMfb , these women now ride with more than wheels: they ride with credit, confidence, and control over their income.
This is what economic inclusion looks like at scale.

I had a chat with a VC earlier today, and also just stumbled on a post on LinkedIn which made me further ponder the realities of building in Africa - https://t.co/Tz3SV2oTZM
In the heart of Africa’s bustling gig economy, @GammaMobility - is redefining accessibility through a mission as bold as it is urgent: Powering Mobility, Transforming Lives.

CREDICORP ROLLS OUT FIRST WAVE OF BENEFICIARIES OF LOCALLY-ASSEMBLED VEHICLES
Recall in December 2024, we launched a mobility credit fund to accelerate purchase of locally-assembled automobiles, partnering with major assemblers (Nord, Innoson, Jets, CIG, NEV, Simba, etc.).
Promise kept: Last Thursday, the first of several waves of credit-backed consumers drove off Simba Group’s factory with brand-new tricycles and motorbikes. Simba (TVS), Nigeria’s largest assembler of three- and two-wheelers, produces *1,170 automobiles daily* and employs 800 Nigerians.
This milestone is part of CREDICORP’s Project *S.C.A.L.E.* (Securing Consumer Access for Local Enterprises). Subject to funding, we are ready to enable *1 million credit-backed purchases of locally-made goods* across five sectors by end of 2026.
CONSUMER CREDIT IS A MOVEMENT.
It advances lives,
stems corruption, and
drives local industry.
Onward and Upward 🙌🏾.
My recent take - If you are building a software business in Africa that addresses a hardware or people-centric problem but your business model relies solely on software as the solution, scaling to venture level growth will be a tough challenge.
We brought the #PremierLeague spirit early! ⚽️
Last weekend, Gigmile & Yango faced off in a friendly tournament.

The main financial inclusion battle is “poverty”, While there is a place for wallets and bank accounts (i.e. banking the unbanked), what use is a bank account to a poor man?
An interesting paradox in startup investment: While investors are on the hunt for asset-light business models, some of the startups that are backed heavily rely on physical assets for growth. Flexibility vs. infrastructure - which strategy will prevail in the long run?
