@DanaIshaq@LeeAnnHool@NathanBaillarg1 As teachers, we should be open to trying out new technologies in the classroom before deciding that it will not benefit your students. Who knows, you might be surprised. If you aren't happy with the results, well at least you tried. #unboundeq
Social media has connected us to people all over the world, allowing genuine conversations to take place. But we still need to be careful and teaching our students to stay safe on social media and the Internet.
While searching on Pinterest, their algorithms connect to what you are searching and send emails of the search for months later. Luckily, I've never found ads that connect to conversations I've had. It seems we no longer have privacy.
@wang11b6 @_Ms_Tieu Ads are essential to keeping these platforms free, but is definitely a nuisance to deal with when navigating social media platforms. #unboundeq
@mspaty1 I agree completely. Most people don't understand the downside to social media and only focus on the positives and the connectedness and international platform that social media provides. #unboundeq
@missmadisonbeth@MaddyPearson@missjvan I agree 100%! People spend so much time ensuring that their pictures are perfect with the filters that enhance their best features. People hide their flaws, presenting themselves in a positive light. No one is perfect, and that sometimes gets lost on social media. #unboundeq
@amancina1 I never thought of social media in this light, but you are 100% right. Our generation can't seem to put the phones down, and we crave to be connected on social media. Great connection! #unboundeq
@misskfranco@ABarraco95 I agree as well. There are pros and cons to using social media, but when we use it for its intended purpose, we can communicate and share ideas with people across the globe, learn about other cultures and perspectives, and come together globally. #unboundeq
@v_wade21@mrpopel@bonstewart Taking a few seconds to check the source of the media will ensure that fake news does not continue to spread. Providing students with these resources will allow them to make informed decisions when retweeting and replying to others. #unboundeq
@cbelcher13 Instead of burying our faces into newspapers, they are buried in our phones. We may still be communicating, but we are starting to lack social skills to communicate face-to-face. Conversations are not the same on social media. #unboundeq
