Twitter is always hard for me as I’m not a major social media person for one, and my job gets in the way. When I am on I always learn and see something new! I’m learning to love it.
@HolmanLashayia @BrandiMorrisSWS That’s a good point to consider. May be could balance it throughout the states and territories so that some places are not so heavily populated over others. #JUSTATHOUGHT🤔
My policy was DACA- Deferred Action of Childhood Arrivals. It’s pretty much summed up by exactly what we have going on right on the border. It’s built around those who entered the US as children and are now trying stay as adults and those currently trying to enter.
@BrandiMorrisSWS I think social worker can do interviews and have forums to get info at the border on the ones coming in to see how they need to be serviced.
@BrandiMorrisSWS For those that are currently trying to come in, there should be a lengthy process to see there intentions,I certainly don’t think it calls for children to separated from their parents or tear gas to be used. Why not set have social workers at the border who can give resources
@BswBynum We absolutely have to advocate for them. The US is supposed to be a place of opportunity, and giving immigrants a hard time or not wanting them to come at all is definitely not what we are supposed to be about.
@BrandiMorrisSWS DACA does not help the ones currently trying to get here but it does take a toll on the family members who were brought in on DACA trying to help members of their family get here currently. The process is very lengthy and grueling. I think it could be handled better.
Social Policy is extremely important right now. As we look at all the political candidates, an evaluate whether they are truly for the people! We as social workers are a big part of getting the right person and policies in place.
How does “ Cultural Competence” effect us in the world of social work. I have heard this term used often and want to know your thoughts on it 👂🏽👂🏽👂🏽👂🏽👂🏽
