@d_yellowlees @beamsontoast Or more recently I’m looking at live captions. For my lectures the live sessions are recorded with captions but providing live captions is another approach that takes time getting comfortable with 💬
@d_yellowlees I definitely don;t use long and complicated words unnecessarily - i'm more of a layperson geordie speak academic. I'm also working really hard on less text more images 🤓

Yr 5 children from @NCEA_Bishops had a tour of campus led by students, talks from academics and a workshop.
They learnt about lots of different jobs, including a Building Information Modeller! 🏘️💻🧑🎓
@d_yellowlees There were laughs, looks of surprise, nodding in recognition of challenges & questions so I think it went well. It felt a lot better than when I've presented similar topics to the same audience previously & gave me ideas for giving some of my flatter subjects a bit more pizzazz🤩
@d_yellowlees I used your storytelling approach this week to present my research to a set of academics who know little/nothing about my domain. It definitely gave me more confidence and we had heros and villians in there 🦸🦹♂️

@d_yellowlees Climbing up the pyramids in Egypt, exploring the archives of tyne and wear museums and being shown round the underground tunnels at Kew Gardens all to explore how digitisation of building data could support preservation of heritage assets. All 3 were my most fun projects 😊
