@EllipticalMan@LuciaLobosvilla I read multiple books in a week's time at that age. I had a library card at age 6. I loved to read and spent all of my available time with my nose in a book
@MeghanMcCain I love physical books but with diminished eyesight, e-books are easier for me to enlarge without having to search for a large print copy.
@BarbellFi Boomer here.. bought a house at 24, needed 2 incomes to cover the mortgage (almost 10% interest rate and that was considered good). Couldn't afford to stay home w/kids, didn't have cable and can't afford to retire until I'm in my 70s. You are delusional
@ksorbs To be clear, i'm not against requiring ID for voting, but locating a birth certificate isn't always easy. My father (born in the US) was never able to obtain a copy of his despite repeated attempts. Records do get lost, even by vital records.
@FAFOFarmsTX@RepMarkPocan Actually only a few states offer the enhanced real ID. Most states don't, including the state I am in, unfortunately. The save act does reference the docs needed to obtain a real ID but does not say real ID can be used, which surprised me.
@CaryKelly11 People laugh but there was one in the house I grew up in. You could occasionally hear footsteps in the attic and my mom heard them come down the attic steps once when no other adults were home.
@RepShriThanedar I had to produce my marriage certificate to get a Real ID already, so I don't think I should have any issue. Please quit attempting to gaslight us.
@CaryKelly11 Without knowing the reason for the call outs, I think it's hard to judge. Sick leave? Single parent with sick kids? Not unreasonable imo. Were the call outs for weeks at a time or just a day or two? Are they otherwise reliable? I'd rather not get sick b/c someone came in ill
