.@podandprejudice I found the piano that Frank Churchill *should* have gotten Jane Fairfax, so it wouldn't take up too much space in her aunt's tiny apartment. And/or maybe it's the piano that Col. Brandon finally found that could fit in the cottage for Marianne?
@AlmanME "Coffee: the finest organic suspension ever devised. I beat the Borg with it."
~Kathryn Janeway
(Personally, I don't like coffee. But that quotation has always made me laugh. That and, "There's coffee in that nebula.")
@bookhoarding Look, I mean, I'm not taking Darcy away from Lizzie, absolutely not. But I'm down for just moving into Pemberley. They have space.
Rushworth is sweet and all, but . . . I just CAN'T listen to that much inane blather. I just can't.
@NASA People say we're "not in the path of totality" and should go an hour or so north/nw for better viewing. Your eclipse pathfinder says we'll get 99.7% coverage. Is this an "atronomical numbers, .3% is huge" thing or are people making a big deal about "total" illogically?
Dear @paramountplus and literally everyone else: #closedcaptions enhance my viewing experience. For MANY others, they are not an enhancement, they are a necessity. "Nothing" is the exact opposite of what @neiltyson said here, which was, "everything." #dobetter#accessibility
.@midnight my 9yo would like me to suggest that you have the comedians do a game where they make "why did the chicken cross the road?" funnier. I told him I'd suggest it. (No, he isn't allowed to watch the show, he just heard me laughing from behind my headphones.)
@podandprejudice@centuriespod ANYWAY! All that makes it totally logical that Christian would give those same kind of vibes at first too. (Also, he reminds me of that one episode of Lizzie McGuire where Gordo goes all 40s and then everyone else picks it up so he stops because it's been popularity co-opted.)
@podandprejudice@centuriespod Elton *wishes* he was that vibe. He's not cool enough to be that dumpster fire. Frank *almost* meets this vibe. Almost. Except he's less "tough guy vibes" and more . . . fancypants? Maybe? Ugh, he's SO hard to define! Whatever he is, he's not great but not so terrible.
@podandprejudice@VoteForMeKellyB Finally rewatching Clueless, paid extra attention to the "filling out" thing. I think he tickles her tum when she slaps his hand away, then she turns & he looks at her chest when he says she's filling out. So I don't think the words & hand placement were related, it was 50/50.
.@podandprejudice I was playing a word game at a New Year's party yesterday and had to name 10 foods starting with b. Apparently I consume so much British/Regency Era media that I can think of blancmange and blood pudding first but broccoli and beets last and after some hints. 🤣
"...because it's not a MePost. It's a WE-Post."
me: "There is a fine line between Jimmy Fallon and a middle school guidance counselor."
And then they end up selecting this post . . . and somehow I just feel like he and the entire audience just proved my point . . . .
@podandprejudice *might be slightly spazzing like crazy*
*might be trying to figure out if a day-trip to NYC is a little too far or not*
*might be texting avidly with my SIL about this*
*maybe*
During @AlmanME's message this morning tabout how we can't *be* Jesus because, well, we're *not,* but being more *like* Jesus comes through suffering not through "doing better," all I could think of was this meme. Resultant new thought: I don't want to be cosplaying Jesus.
You know a company is doing it right when there's a dumb social media ad about joining a class action suit against @Steam, and almost every comment under it is, "You must be kidding, Steam is the only company I've never had a problem with." @valvesoftware#dreamteam
@LShalott Pro tip: people freak out less about being in your dreams if you pre-empt them with a cease and desist. "You were in my dream last night. First of all, I want you to stop that. Second, you were eating spaghetti and meatball pot pie? Is that even a thing?"
